THE FORGOTTEN, number eleven in the Decker/Rina series, illustrates the tremendous and needless pressure that face today’s teenagers. When a synagogue is desecrated, Decker takes more than a personal interest. It is his house of worship. The perpetrator is soon caught, but Decker is never completely satisfied with the confession. The novel also explores Decker’s relationship with his stepsons, particularly Jacob.
